ABOUT the garden​​

We have lived here for over 20 years and the garden has had periods of being loved intensely and then having to fend for itself depending on what was happening in our lives.

When we first came here there were only 5 huge gum trees at the front of the house and an 8’ excavated rock wall 2m from the back of the house. John moved mountains of rock on his beloved bulldozer and created the back amphitheatre garden. He also leveled an area at the front of the house so the children had somewhere to play without rolling into the creek!

Planting started close to the house and has continued to grow outwards – the downfall of not having a fence around the garden!

​

Future projects include erecting our greenhouse, finishing the pond area at the back of the house, creating hedges on both the eastern and western sides of the garden and creating a low level maze on the lawn area in the new garden at the entrance.
